Saturday May 27 was a warm spring day in Wisconsin.   We flew up to Clintonville airport which is 22 NM northwest of Appleton.  After 3 landings with the instructor I took to the air for my first solo flight.  I made 3 landings before taxing in to pick up my instructor.

Flight up to MUM was preformed at 5,500' along the Bay of Green Bay.  This was my first time talking with Green Bay Approach and following VOR radials for navigation.  Preformed a Cross wind landing before taxing in to the terminal to grab a soda before heading back to ATW.

Solo Cross Country #2 (ATW-AIG-CLI-ATW) September 15, 2006
Flying north to Antigo (AIG) for the second cross country.  Picked up flight following and flew at 4500' on my way to AIG.  On my first landing in AIG the winds were making it challenging.  After  a few landings I grabbed a refreshment before heading back CLI and then on to ATW.

Solo Cross Country #3 (ATW-CWA-RHI-ATW) "Long Cross Country" Sept. 20, 2006
After checking the weather I was cleared for my last solo flight before the big test.  After landing in CWA a few times I turned north to search for Rhinelander (RHI).  I tracked the NDB into RHI and made a few quick touch and go's and had a chance to talk Skyway pilots as they were approaching the airport.  I turned south for ATW and climbed up to 9,500'.  This was the  first time I had the chance to climb this high, and it sure was a great view.

Private Pilot Test - November 2, 2006
Well the day finally came and I took to the sky after hour of ground questions.  The ceilings were low and the wind made things a little rough but I was able to track my departure out and made my first check point within 1 minute of planned time.  After 50 minutes we headed back to the airport where I found out that I had passed my Private Pilot test.  I'm now a real pilot!
